From Climate change discussions, to Arctic Council discussions in Norway and Brussels, through to the International Whaling Commission where Indigenous whaling communities are debated every year, there are multiple forums where the voices of Arctic communities continue to be underrepresented. ONE WITH THE WHALEprovides a soft entry point to entertain, engage and ultimately educate strategic voices in political spaces around the world.
At this point, ONE WITH THE WHALEalso takes on a wider mantle, representing at its core, the struggles and hard-earned victories that Indigenous voices have fought so hard to achieve against political exclusion and prejudice in recent years. The space can be global, from Arctic Council meetings in Norway to closed door funder workshops in New York, the priority is to provide a platform where Indigenous Arctic Voices can be heard and participate in decision making, particularly around natural resources.
